Imagine -
Always talking to a friend, a family member or someone 'you love'
but they are always replying you with the shortest answers as possible, and
every time you spend with them, they rush through it and are quick to leave,
they always seem too busy for you, always rushing,
when communicating, they speak so fast and run on their words that you or them don't comprehend.
They give you no attention and their concentration is everywhere else but with you.
They seem to have bigger and better plans than being with you, I mean they claim to love you but
but are too busy for you, too busy to show up, to commit to things, to take time out of their day for you,
you are meant to believe you are loved, that you are important yet their actions never say so,
ironically, they seem to have time for you when they are in need,
they run to you when in need of comfort, and for help in difficult situations and
just once the problem is fixed, they are back to the never ending busy schedule.
How would you feel if anyone treated you like that?
how would you feel if a friend, sister or someone you love treats you like that,
what would you think of that person?
would you feel loved and valued,
just for a minute visualize this scenario and genuinely reflect on how you would feel.
This relationship should feel familiar, to most of us
its one we have with the most important person,
its the relationship we have with our lord,
our Rabb.
Sounds familiar now? it clicks right??
Unfortunately,
We are indulged in everything, busy running the ins and outs of life,
whilst, forgetting our main priority, the main purpose of our existence,
we are consumed with this world that we are losing ourselves slowly without realizing,
it sad, sad how we rush through the prayers, reading the shortest surahs to quickly finish and move
we keep moving and moving, but when will we take time to rest
time to reflect, time to connect, time for our lord!
when ?
Prayer is a connection with Allah,
when reciting the Quran you are communicating with you Rabb,
and communicating needs to be said in clear language, and not rushed.
we need to make effort, effort to connect better with our Rabb.
What is the world but a matter of time, 'we all will return to HIM,
So its time to change the narrative,
we need to stop incorporating our religion into our life,
it should be the other way round,
prioritize you religion, and then fit in school, work and anything else.
The most merciful is ever merciful to His servants,
we just need to do better,
fix up,
and make our lifestyle pleasing to him.
Because 'You die the way you live'
Yet our lord is every forgiving
so pray like the angel of death is waiting to take your soul at the end of the prayer,
pray with your heart, live an honorable life so you can die honorable .
Lets set our priorities straight
and return, return back to
our oft-forgiving Rabb.
May Allah make us all akhirah investors and aid us with our battles.
Side note - In pursuit of welcoming the beautiful month of ramadan, from today I challenge each of my readers to make every prayer matter. With every prayer, pray slowly, be conscious and recite beautifully ( I know you all have beautiful voices).
Thank you
Just wowww!! These are just thoughts that cross my mind and I must say your write ups are so relatable tbh.
